The Bishop Sullivan CHS bookstore is operated on a not-for-profit basis to provide textbooks and curriculum materials to CHS students at reasonable prices. We offer new and used books and operate a consignment program to sell books for parents/students.
-- New Books --
To obtain the lowest possible prices for our textbooks, we use a variety of sources, including publishers and textbook brokers. Brokers sometimes provide books they call "new", but may show signs of handling and minor wear. These are texts that have been returned by book stores (like us) due to overstocking or discontinued use. While we include these books in our "new book" category, they are significantly cheaper than if obtained new from the publisher.
-- Used Books --
Books taken in on consignment, or purchased used by the book store are set at 60% of the new price at the time they are placed in inventory. Our policy is to consign or purchase used books only of average or better condition.
New books purchased through the Bishop Sullivan CHS bookstore can be exchanged or returned as long as they are not written or marked in. Additionally, used books may be exchanged or returned if they are determined to be unacceptable.
-- ISBN Listing--
For parents who like to shop for the best price (though we try to have the best price) we provide an ISBN list for all of our books. While we make every effort to ensure that the ISBN's are correct and updated in a timely manner, we assume no liability for incorrect books purchased based on the published ISBNs.
-- Book List Generator --
To help you find the books you need, we have developed an online tool
for generating a book list based on your child's class schedule. We suggest you print this to use as an aid in ordering from us online, or for reference for price comparison.
In addition to our walk-in book store, beginning this summer (2007) we will offer online ordering.
-- Ordering Caveats --
Book List and Edition Changes : ISBN numbers will be provided for parents who wish to price and/or buy books from other sources. However, due to changing book availability and expense, Bishop Sullivan CHS may need to make adjustments to the book list during the summer. Check the website regularly for updates. CHS is not responsible for books purchased from other vendors. Additionally, if obtaining books from outside the CHS Bookstore system, be aware that many science books require an accompanying CD.
Book Availability: Because we will be selling books throughout the summer, Bishop Sullivan CHS cannot guarantee availability of all books the week prior to the start of classes. We encourage buying early to take advantage of the best selection of used books, to avoid a crush of customers at the end of the summer, and to ensure your student will have his/her books the first day of school.
